The northernmost section of the Turnagain Arm trail, Potter to McHugh passes through mixed forest. A little elevation gain gets your heart pumping, but the trail is easy enough for kids, too. As elsewhere in Alaska, be bear-aware, bring plenty of water and snacks, and take advantage of the trampled viewpoints along the way that look out over the Arm.
