The South Fork of Eagle River trail makes for an easy, quick evening hike. Starting at treeline, you get scenic views right away. The bridge, at about mile 2, is a good turnaround point for a shorter outing, although it's so pretty you might be tempted to keep going! On this early June hike, I tossed a hat and gloves into my day pack at the trailhead, as the wind chilled me before we got moving. Eventually the sun broke through.
